Bridging the gap in his community
In 2011, he joined Murakami USA as part of a turn around. What started as a plan to return a company to profitability evolved into a journey that became the foundation for the book. While building relationships with team members, educators, and local community leaders he saw opportunities to better the lives of more than just his team. His interest in young people and workforce development led him to Chair the Kentucky Chamber Workforce Center, and the Education and Workforce Council. While serving on the Workforce Center, a concept he created became a statewide program known as “Bus to Business.” Due to his extensive experience living and working in Japan, he also serves on the board for the Japan America Society of Kentucky.
His “Why” is “Bridging the Gap.” It does not matter if the gap exists between cultures, educators, business, or civic leaders. If there is a gap, he sees it as an opportunity to make life better for all.
While his mission has tremendous merit, the most important part of his life is his faith, his wife, and his family.
